EXPLANATION: Pursuant to RFQ# 202010, on May 12, 2020, the Village Council awarded a continuing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract to Burkhardt Construction, Inc.
Staff is seeking authorization to issue a work authorization, providing a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Public Works Facility Storage Building and Site Improvements. The scope of work includes the construction of a 10,000sf conditioned warehouse suitable for storage of records, chemicals, and materials and supplies that require a climate-controlled environment.
The cost of the project is $3,849,256.47, which includes an owner-controlled contingency in the amount of $300,000. The budgeted amount for this project is $4,000,000.
Staff recommends executing an amendment with Burkhardt Construction, Inc. for Public Works Facility Storage Building and Site Improvements in the amount of $3,849,356.47.
