EXPLANATION: The agent, MPLD Consulting, on behalf of the property owner, Shawnick Wellington LLC, is requesting to abandon a portion (1,943 Sq. Ft.) of the 12-foot wide Water and Sewer Easement that runs along the south portion of the in-line building and within the building expansion area. The expansion is to accommodate a Publix grocery store space (formally the Fresh Market space) currently under construction within MUPD B of the Wellington Green project. All existing water/sewer lines within the easement abandonment area (building expansion area) were relocated prior to the commencement of construction for the building expansion. The applicant/owner was required to apply for this easement abandonment and receive approval prior to final CO of the building expansion, which is anticipated in April 2024.
The Engineering Services, Planning and Zoning, and Utilities Departments have determined this request to abandon a portion of the 12-foot wide Water and Sewer Easement is consistent with the public interest and will not adversely affect Wellington's interests or access to other properties.
