EXPLANATION: Deputy Sheriff Jeffrey Taschner has served with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office District 8 since 2018 and was assigned to the traffic enforcement unit in 2021 to assist with an uptick in traffic complaints and traffic crashes. During this time, D/S Taschner quickly identified key areas where complaints of reckless/aggressive driving and speeding were most prevalent. He has tirelessly engaged in ongoing traffic enforcement and education, leading the District to 4th place County-wide in traffic enforcement statistics.
Over the past two years, D/S Taschner has stopped over 3,507 vehicles and issued 4,356 citations. He has arrested 59 motorists for driving without a valid license, 65 for driving with a suspended license, and 38 for reckless driving. He has put his own personal safety on the line in an effort to prevent fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways. His enforcement efforts also include school zones and neighborhoods.
D/S Taschner has been recognized by his command and peers as the most deserving of this recognition for his consistent and relentless pursuit of traffic safety and his commitment to the residents of both the County and the Village of Wellington.
