REQUEST: Authorization to utilize 1). Palm Beach County contract No. R2017-055 with Wynn & Sons Environmental Constructions Co., Inc.in the amount of $19,145.00 and 2). Palm Beach County contract No. R2017-052 with Southeast Highway Guardrail and Attenuators, LLC. in the amount of $6,190.00 for the Pierson-Ousley Pathway Extension.

EXPLANATION: This project is part of the master plan to improve walkability and bicycle circulation identifying missing non-vehicular connections to key destinations. Connections are planned to be completed in conjunction with the Road and Pathway Overlay Program.
The project consists of extending the existing pathway located on the west side of Ousley Farms Road to the intersection of Ousley Farms Road and Pierson Road, including canal bank re-grading, relocating the existing guardrail and construction of curb and gutter along the edge of the roadway. The pathway will improve the safety of the area while connecting the existing bridle paths.
On January 23, 2018, Palm Beach County awarded contract No. R2017-055 (Project 2017055) effective through January 22, 2019 and subsequently renewed the contract through January 22, 2021.
On March 14, 2017, Palm Beach County awarded contract No. R2017-052 (Project 2017052) effective through March 13, 2019 and subsequently renewed the contract through March 13, 2020.
Staff recommends utilizing both Palm Beach County contracts No. R2017-055 and No. R2017-052, as a basis for pricing, with Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co., Inc. and Southeast Highway Guardrail and Attenuators, LLC. for the Pierson-Ousley Pathway Extension in the amount of $25,335.00.
