EXPLANATION: On June 14, 2022, the Village Council approved Resolution No. R2022-19, a Comprehensive Agreement between Wellington Athletics, LLC, and ACME Improvement District, for the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of a recreational facility at the Wellington Community Park Site, located at 3401 South Shore Boulevard.
Pursuant to Resolution No. R2024-05 (A resolution of Wellington’s Council supporting the relocation of the Wellington Athletics recreation facility to Village Park; accepting a monetary donation from various property owners to defray the costs associated with the relocation of the proposed recreational facility; expressing the Council’s commitment to limit the use of Wellington Community Park as set forth herein; requiring a super-majority vote of the Village Council to amend the resolution; and providing an effective date), approved by Council on March 12, 2024, the parties now desire to relocate the Project from the property known as Wellington Community Park located at 3401 South Shore Boulevard Wellington, Florida, 33414 to a portion of the property known as Village Park located at 11700 Pierson Road, Wellington Florida, 33414.
Staff recommends approval of Amendment No. 4 to the Comprehensive Agreement for the design, development, construction, and operation of a recreational facility, relocating the project from the Wellington Community Park site, located at 3401 South Shore Boulevard, Wellington, Florida, 33414, to a portion of the property known as Village Park located at 11700 Pierson Road, Wellington, Florida, 33414.
