EXPLANATION:                     On March 10, 2026, the Village Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-03 annexing the Artistry Lakes property located east of the Arden development. On March 26, 2026, Palm Beach County adopted a resolution objecting to the annexation and initiating a Chapter 164, Florida Statutes, Conflict Resolution process. In response to the initiation of the Conflict Resolution, an Interlocal Service Boundary Agreement (ISBA) between Wellington and Palm Beach County was proposed. The ISBA is designed to address the County’s objections to the annexation and to coordinate future land use, public facilities, and services in advance of future annexations within the area defined by the ISBA.

The ISBA does not annex any property. All future annexations will still be required to comply with Chapter 171, Florida Statutes.

The ISBA was approved by the Village Council at the first reading on June 30, 2026. Once adopted, the ISBA will be forwarded to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) for adoption.
