EXPLANATION: The Village utilizes a variety of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and other specialty items throughout the year to maintain the health and aesthetics of athletic fields, playgrounds, and other Village properties, including common areas.
On May 14, 2024, Wellington awarded ITB #202403 to three vendors. During the first renewal term of May 14, 2025 through May 13, 2026 only two vendors, Howard Fertilizer and Chemicals, LLC and SiteOne Landscape Supply, LLC agreed to renew their contracts.
For the upcoming renewal term of May 14, 2026 through May 13, 2027, Howard Fertilizer and Chemicals, LLC has agreed to renew its contract with proposed price adjustments on some items. Proposed chemical price adjustments range from a decrease of 4.5% to increase of 13.36%, averaging 4% increase for chemicals. Proposed price adjustments for fertilizer items range from increase of 10% to 40% for an average of 28% increase for fertilizers. SiteOne Landscape Supply, LLC has declined to renew its contract, citing current market conditions. Current market conditions continue to impact fertilizer and chemical pricing largely due to global supply chain disruptions and geopolitical uncertainties, including those affecting key shipping routes and increased production costs, resulting in price volatility. Prior year expenditures were $198,875.82.
Staff has reviewed the renewal and associated price adjustments from Howard Fertilizer and Chemicals, LLC and recommends approval. Staff will obtain quotes as needed for any items previously supplied by SiteOne Landscape Supply, LLC.
