ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE GOODS AND SERVICES UTILIZING VARIOUS VENDORS FOR THE SCOTT’S PLACE EXPANSION PROJECT
REQUEST: Authorization to purchase goods and services utilizing various vendors for the Scott’s Place Expansion Project at a cost of approximately $324,421.00.

EXPLANATION: On December 5, 2023, Council approved Resolution No. R2023-64 authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for the Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant for the Town Center Phase II Project and Resolution No. 2023-65 for a budget amendment to allocate the grant. The FDEP administers the FRDAP Program to provide grants for outdoor recreational activities. The Village was awarded $200,000 for the Town Center Phase II project and Wellington’s match is $200,000.
Staff is seeking authorization to purchase goods and services for the project, including playground equipment, shade structures, safety surfacing, installation services, fencing, lighting and sitework.

Pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, the purchase of goods and services above are allowable based on the procurement process noted. However, since the total expenditures exceed $50,000, Council approval is required.
