ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A CITY OF GREENACRES CONTRACT FOR THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF SPLIT RAIL WOOD FENCING ALONG SOUTH SHORE BOULEVARD FROM LAKE WORTH ROAD TO 50TH STREET
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize a City of Greenacres contract with E. Gomez Construction Inc., as a basis for pricing, for the removal and replacement of split rail wood fencing along South Shore Boulevard from Lake Worth Road to 50th Street at an estimated cost of $135,700.00.

EXPLANATION: The Public Works Department is seeking authorization to utilize the existing City of Greenacres Fence Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Services contract (Bid No. 23-003) with E. Gomez Construction Inc. for the removal and replacement of approximately 5,080 linear feet of deteriorating split rail wood fencing along South Shore Boulevard from Lake Worth Road to 50th Street.
The scope includes removal and disposal of the existing fence and installation of new split 2-3 rail wood fencing to match existing conditions. Certain areas of the project will have a 2-rail fence to increase line of sight, the remainder of the project area will have 3-rail fence. The second contract awardee, Martin Fence Company, informed staff they are not installing wood fences at this time and declined to submitted a quote. The City of Greenacres executed its contract (Bid No. 23 003) on January 9, 2023, and the current renewal period extends through January 8, 2027.
Staff recommends utilizing the City of Greenacres contract with E. Gomez Construction Inc., as the basis for pricing, for the removal and replacement of split rail wood fencing along South Shore Boulevard from Lake Worth Road to 50th Street at an estimated cost of $135,700.00.
