REQUEST:  Authorization to (1) renew an existing contract with Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co. for the annual July 4th fireworks display in the amount of $35,000; and (2) utilize Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co. for the Village’s twenty (20) year anniversary celebration fireworks display, in the amount of $15,000.

EXPLANATION:  On April 23, 2013, Council awarded a contract to Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co., a non-local vendor, to provide the annual July 4th fireworks display at Village Park.  The initial term of the contract was for three annual events beginning on July 4, 2013 through July 4, 2015.  The contract includes two additional, one year, renewal options.

 

Staff is requesting authorization to (1) exercise the first renewal option, with Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co., for the July 4, 2016 event, in the amount of $35,000 and (2) utilize Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co. for the Village’s twenty (20) year anniversary celebration fireworks display, in the amount of $15,000.   The total cost of both events combined is $50,000.
