ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO CONTINUE UTILIZING A SOUTHEAST FLORIDA CO-OP CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND DELIVERY OF WATER METER FITTINGS AND WATER LINE ACCESSORIES

EXPLANATION: This contract provides for the supply of small diameter service piping and fittings used for the installation, repair and replacement of water services. Multiple vendors are included as part of the contract, allowing for flexibility and ready access to materials.
Contract #2011/12-22 was awarded to multiple vendors by the City of Deerfield Beach, acting as the lead agency for the Southeast Florida Co-Op Group. The Co-Op has recently exercised the second contract renewal option, effective through October 31, 2017. This contract includes a provision for one (1) additional one (1) year renewal option.

All contracts were awarded as a percentage off the vendor’s published catalog price. Vendors providing the best overall price, for the items required, will be selected for award preference.
A total of fifteen municipalities across South Florida currently utilize pricing under this contract, including the City of Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Plantation and North Miami Beach.
Staff recommends utilizing Southeast Florida Co-Op contract #2011/12-22, with multiple vendors, for the purchase and delivery of water meter fittings and water line accessories in the amount of approximately $150,000 annually.
