EXPLANATION: The Utilities Department utilizes a system of Process Logic Computers (PLCs) and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) to operate, monitor, and manage raw water supply wells, the water treatment plant, remote water booster stations, sanitary lift stations, the water reclamation facility and the reuse distribution system. These systems monitor, gather, process real time data, and directly interact with devices such as sensors, valves, pumps and motors. These systems are crucial to maintaining efficiency, processing data for decision-making and communicating system issues to minimize downtime.
On June 27, 2023, the Village released ITB 202330 Utility Process Control Annual Maintenance seeking qualified vendors to provide these services. On July 18, 2023, the Village received four (4) proposals and, for redundancy purposes, the Utilities Department is requesting authorization to award contracts to three (3) firms. The Utilities Department will distribute the work on a project-by-project and emergency basis. The initial term of the contract is for one (1) year from date of award with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods.
