EXPLANATION: The Public Works Department seeks approval to purchase and install a canopy structure and concrete slab to provide weather-protected storage for essential surface water management equipment at the Greenbriar Storage Yard. Covered storage is necessary to protect equipment such as an excavator, front loader, backhoe, weed surface boat, and boat skiff from sun and rain damage. The proposed canopy structure will provide the necessary shelter, while the concrete slab will serve as a stable foundation. These improvements will extend the lifespan of the equipment and ensure operational readiness.
Quotes were solicited from qualified vendors in accordance with the Village Purchasing Manual. The department proposes purchasing a 50’ x 50’ canopy structure from Central Steel Group Inc. DBA Carport Central, including site-specific plans, for a total amount of $25,588.00, and contracting with E& F Florida Enterprises Inc. DBA Creative Contracting Group for the provision and installation of a concrete slab in the amount of $27,900.00. The total project cost is $53,488.00. Installation is expected to begin upon Council approval and will take approximately three months from start to finish.

Pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, the purchase of goods and services are allowable based on the procurement process noted. However, since the total expenditures for the project exceed $50,000, Council approval is required.
