EXPLANATION: On August 14, 2024, the Village released ITB# 202415 seeking qualified vendors for the supply and delivery of liquid dispersion polymer. To allow for competition, manufacturers and suppliers were permitted to submit a “reseller” and “equal” polymer product, provided it met the Village’s needs. On September 5, 2024, the Village received three (3) proposals:

The Water Reclamation Facility uses liquid dispersion polymer to help thicken and remove water from the biosolids, prior to the biosolids drying unit, for final processing. The end product is Class AA biosolids, the highest quality biosolids achievable. The new price represents a 11.53% increase from the current rate of $3.1203. The initial term of the contract is for a two (2) year period and the contract contains two (2) additional one (1) year renewal periods.
The annual financial impact of the unforeseen pricing increase is approximately $15,500.00.
