REQUEST: Authorization to purchase goods and services, from various vendors to modify the Town Center sign from a masonry wall into a two-sided LED sign in the amount of $77,016.50.

EXPLANATION: The Facilities Improvement Plan, includes modification of the existing Town Center masonry entry sign located on Forest Hill Blvd. and Town Center Drive (Across from Village Hall). The upgrades include: Modifying the existing sign by increasing the height of the masonry wall, installing a new wood framed roof, adding electricity, replacing lettering and logo, adding cladding features, painting and installation of two LED monitors.
Pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, the purchase of goods and services below are allowable based on the procurement process noted. However, since the total expenditures for the project exceed $50,000, Council approval is required. The Engineering and Technology Departments will act as the General Contractor on this project, thus saving the Village approximately $11,000 in sales tax plus contractor overhead/profit/markup.
