ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW THE CONTRACT WITH BLACK FOREST ENTERPRISES, INC. (DBA GARDENSCAPES OF THE PALM BEACHES) FOR LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES OF ALL PARKS VILLAGE-WIDE
REQUEST: Authorization to renew the contract with Black Forest Enterprises, Inc. (DBA Gardenscapes of the Palm Beaches) to provide landscape maintenance services for all parks Village-wide at an annual cost of $235,000.

EXPLANATION: The current landscape maintenance service contract for Wellington parks was awarded in 2009 to Black Forest Enterprises, Inc. (DBA Gardenscapes of the Palm Beaches) a Western Community local vendor. The initial term of the contract was for three years with a provision for five (5) additional one (1) year renewals. Staff is seeking authorization to exercise the third renewal option, effective through December 29, 2015, with no change in price.
Gardenscapes, a Western Community local vendor, has provided superior landscape maintenance service to all Wellington parks throughout the term of the existing agreement with no increase in cost. Staff is recommending renewal of the contract with Gardenscapes while keeping the existing number of landscape maintenance service days for all parks Village-wide for fiscal year 2015, at a cost of $235,000 annually.
