ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO UTILIZE A SOURCEWELL CONTRACT, AS A BASIS FOR PRICING, WITH UNIFIRST CORPORATION FOR UNIFORMS AND RELATED PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
REQUEST: Authorization to utilize Sourcewell contract #040920-UFC, as a basis for pricing, with UniFirst Corporation, for uniforms and related products and services, in the amount of approximately $80,000.00 annually.

EXPLANATION: On June 18, 2020, Sourcewell, a State of Minnesota local government agency and service cooperative, awarded contract #040920-UFC to UniFirst Corporation, for uniforms and related products and services. UniFirst is one of North America's largest workwear and textile service companies, providing uniforms, protective clothing, and custom apparel programs to businesses and governments throughout the United States. The current Sourcewell contract expires May 22, 2025. The initial term of Wellington's service agreement is for a sixty (60) month period and may be extended by mutual agreement. If UniFirst and Sourcewell enter into an agreement that replaces contract #040920-UFC, and the terms of that agreement are more favorable to Wellington, the terms of the replacement agreement shall replace the terms of the Sourcewell Agreement and shall be incorporated.
Staff compared the Sourcewell contract pricing against the currently utilized Omnia Partners contract (R-BB-19002) and found that the Sourcewell contract provides the best price for the products and services requested. The estimated annual savings is approximately thirteen (13) percent. Unifirst Corporation currently provides uniform services to a number of municipalities located throughout Palm Beach County, including, but not limited to, the City of West Palm Beach, the Village of Royal Palm Beach, and the City of Boca Raton.
