EXPLANATION: Crime Prevention Month was designated through a Presidential proclamation in October 1984 as a way to spread the word about crime prevention and personal safety. The Village recognizes the efforts of our cooperative relationships with first responders, local neighborhood watch groups and community partners to help combat crime before it starts and urges all residents to join in crime prevention efforts.
