ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW AN EXISTING CONTRACT TO PROVIDE AQUATIC VEGETATION CONTROL SERVICES TO WELLINGTON CANALS AND LAKES
REQUEST: Authorization to renew an existing contract with Kerner, LLC DBA Kerner Environmental to provide aquatic vegetation control services to Wellington canals and lakes, at an annual cost of approximately $487,562.

EXPLANATION: On April 11, 2023, Council awarded a three-year contract (ITB # 202322) to Kerner, LLC DBA Kerner Environmental for aquatic vegetation control services throughout the Village’s canals and lake areas. During the current initial term, several amendments were executed to include additional service locations increasing annual expenditures by $24,732. The current initial contract term will expire on April 30, 2026 and includes an option for two additional one-year renewal options.
Staff is requesting authorization to exercise the first annual renewal option with Kerner, LLC DBA Kerner Environmental to continue providing aquatic vegetation control services to Wellington canals, lakes and preserve areas, effective through April 30, 2027 with no price increase except for the expense of the additional service locations which is an increase of $24,732 per year.
