EXPLANATION: In September, 2026, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced that the Wellington Tennis Center is one of 41 winners in the USTA’s annual Outstanding Facility Awards program. The program recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country. Award recipients were honored at a reception held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York as part of the 2026 US Open.
Facility awards included categories for public courts - small and large; private facilities - small and large; educational institutions, and innovative. Wellington’s Tennis Center was selected as a winner in the Public Courts: Large Tennis Centers (12 or more courts) category.
