EXPLANATION: The Public Works Department is requesting authorization to utilize a Palm Beach County contract with Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co., LLC. For the multipurpose pathway, sidewalk, and paving improvements at multiple Village locations. Palm Beach County executed their contract (Project #2022063) on March 14, 2023 and it expires March 13, 2026.

The projects were identified as priority areas for rehabilitation due to aging pavement, root intrusion, slope issues, and concrete degradation. Pathway improvements are planned for completion during the Thanksgiving and/or Christmas holiday breaks to reduce impact on pedestrian traffic to and from area schools. All other work will be finalized before any new contract or price adjustments take effect.

These improvements will directly enhance pedestrian and vehicular safety, rectify ADA compliance issues, improve stormwater drainage, and extend the service life of the Village's infrastructure. Completing this work now maintains the Village's paving schedule and ensures coordination with other projects.
