REQUEST: Approval of individual projects proposed to be completed under existing Asphalt Milling and Resurfacing and Mulch, Sod and Pinestraw contracts.

EXPLANATION: On August 13, 2013 Council approved contracts to Ranger Construction, Community Asphalt and Wynn & Sons to provide milling and resurfacing of roadways, pathway repair and resurfacing, and pathway sealcoating Village-wide. The initial term of the contracts was for one year and was renewed for one additional year expiring on August 28, 2014. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize the existing contracts for the following project:

All pricing is based on unit pricing contained in contracts previously approved by Council.

On June 25, 2013, Council approved contracts to Odums Sod, Inc and Amerigrow Recycling Palm Beach County to provide sod, mulch, pinestraw and ground preparation Village-wide. The term of the contract is for three years expiring on June 25, 2016 with two additional one year renewal options. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize the existing contracts for the following project:

Purchase and Install Floratam Sod along South side of Lake Worth between 120th Avenue and the Eastern Village Limits

The sod will be utilized to replace the damaged and/or removed areas as part of an on-going swale reconstruction project. All pricing is based on unit pricing contained in contracts previously approved by Council.

Although these contracts are not set to expire until August 2014 and June 2016 respectively, the individual projects exceed $25,000 and require prior Council approval.
