...body
EXPLANATION: The Village utilizes a contract with Port Consolidated, Inc. for the supply and delivery of gasoline and diesel fuel, which is required to power vehicles, heavy equipment, pump stations, booster stations and emergency generators throughout the Village.

Wellington's contract #031-13/JWV with Port Consolidated, Inc. has exhausted all available renewal options and will expire on September 10, 2017. Instead of re-bidding a new contract, staff is requesting authorization to utilize the Southeast Florida Co-Op contract with Port Consolidated, Inc., the Village's current supplier. The Co-Op contract is currently being utilized by thirty-nine (39) other agencies, and by utilizing such contract the Village will benefit from bulk purchase pricing.

The Village's current contracted price is $0.017 cents per gallon, which represents the contractor's markup, which is paid to the contractor in addition to the daily price of fuel. The Co-Op contract markup price is $0.007, a savings of $0.010 per gallon or approximately $1,000 annually for the Village.

Staff is requesting authorization to utilize the Southeast Florida Co-Op contract with Port Consolidated, Inc. effective September 11, 2017 through March 14, 2020.

Fuel prices vary from day to day during the contract period; however, the contractor's markup will remain unchanged during the term of the renewal. No Western Community or Palm Beach County local vendor provides this service.
