ITEM:                     PRESENTATION OF 2024 PUBLIC SAFETY ART & ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS 

 

REQUEST:                     Presentation and recognition of the 2024 Public Safety Art and Essay Contest winners.

EXPLANATION:                     On March 13th the Public Safety Committee met and selected this year’s winners of their Annual Public Safety Poster and Essay contest.  Wellington students in grades K through 12 were invited to submit their artwork and essays representing their thoughts and ideas on bicycle safety. 

 

One (1) first-place poster winner and one (1) runner-up poster winner was selected from each of the age categories, with prizes awarded for the Elementary Schools (grades K through 5), the Middle School category (grades 6 through 8) and the High School category (grades 9 through 12).  First-place winners will receive a $100 gift card and runners-up will receive a $50 gift card.  The contest was sponsored by Cycle Fit Bicycles of Wellington Owners Rudy and Mayra Zurita.
