EXPLANATION: On October 8, 2024, the Village Council awarded a Professional Consulting Services contract (RFQ 202414) to multiple qualified firms. As part of that solicitation, Mock, Roos & Associates, Inc. was selected as one of Wellington's approved engineering service providers. Staff is seeking authorization to utilize this existing contract to provide professional engineering services for critical stormwater infrastructure improvements.

On September 25, 2025, a purchase order was issued for preliminary engineering services the Stormwater Pump Station Nos. 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 Improvements in the amount of $46,588. The purpose of this task order will fund the final engineering design and bid phase services for electrical and mechanical upgrades at six (6) of the Village's stormwater pump stations (Nos. 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9). The proposed scope of work is based on prior evaluations which identified necessary improvements to maintain long-term functionality and reliability. Key improvements include replacement of variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), lighting, and security systems. Pump Station No. 4 also requires the replacement of its backup generator and automatic transfer switch.

The consultant's responsibilities will include coordination with equipment manufacturers, limited preparation of the design documents and specifications, development of an updated Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (EOPCC), participation in design review meetings with Village staff, bid phase support, including bid review and preparation ...
