ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR AN ADA TRANSITION PLAN

EXPLANATION: The Village of Wellington requested proposals to assist the Village with an ADA Transition Plan for the evaluation of all existing park facilities for ADA compliance. The Village is seeking an independent analysis of the park system to determine overall compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The tasks requested by the Village include:
• Park Evaluations
• ADA Evaluation Training
• ADA Transition Plan Report/Final Report
On June 16, 2024 Wellington released RFQ# 202414 seeking the expertise of a qualified consultant. On July 17, 2024 the Village received proposals from following firms:
• Innovation Design & Consulting Engineers, LLC
• CTS Engineering, Inc.
• Colliers Engineering & Design, Inc.
A selection committee meeting was held on July 30, 2024 and a motion was made to short list all three firms. Presentations and interviews were held on August 14, 2024 and the committee recommended negotiations with the highest ranked firm, CTS Engineering, Inc. Contract negotiation sessions were held to discuss the project and services needed.
Staff recommends awarding a contract to CTS Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $268,555.00, for an ADA Transition Plan.
