EXPLANATION: To combat human trafficking, the State of Florida has made strides in preventing the occurrence of human trafficking, prosecuting traffickers and dismantling criminal networks, and protecting the victims. Wellington recognizes the importance of educating its residents and employees and providing a better understanding of the key indicators of human trafficking, and recently proclaimed January 2024 as Human Trafficking Awareness Month in Wellington.
Ms. Leslie Jay Gould is in attendance to speak briefly on the issue of human trafficking.
