ITEM: RECOGNITION OF PALM BEACH CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL AND WELLINGTON COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR THEIR DANCE MARATHON FUNDRAISING EFFORTS
REQUEST: Recognition and appreciation of Palm Beach Central High School and Wellington Community High School students for their Dance Marathon fundraising efforts.

EXPLANATION: For over 10 years, Palm Beach Central High School and Wellington Community High School students have organized Dance Marathon events to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Hospital at UF Shands. During that time, Palm Beach Central High School students have raised over $611,000, and Wellington Community High School students have raised over $535,000. Combined, Wellington’s High Schools have raised over $1.1 million for the Children’s Miracle Hospital at UF Shands.
This year, the Children’s Miracle Network has reorganized State districts so that there is a more equitable distribution of Dance Marathon fundraising. The money raised during the course of this partnership is outstanding and a testament to the hard work of our students and staff.
Going forward, student’s Dance Marathon fundraising efforts will benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
