On June 13, 2018, Wellington released ITB #020-18/DZ on Demandstar, seeking qualified firms to purchase such equipment. The solicitation was also advertised in the Palm Beach Post and posted on Wellington’s website. On June 20, 2018, two (2) proposals were received.

This equipment is critical to the uninterrupted operation of the lime softening plant and will be kept as a shelf spare item. It is common for the Utility to keep a spare in stock of critical mechanical equipment. The previous spare was recently installed to replace the original gear box which was approximately 20 years old.
