A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL, ADOPTING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH PALM BEACH COUNTY TO RESOLVE THE CHAPTER 164 GOVERNMENTAL DISPUTE WITH PALM BEACH COUNTY REGARDING THE ANNEXATION OF ARTISTRY LAKES; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approve Resolution No. R2026-53 adopting an interlocal agreement with Palm Beach County to resolve the Chapter 164 Governmental Dispute concerning the annexation of Artistry Lakes.

EXPLANATION: On March 10, 2026, Wellington annexed the Artistry Lakes property located north of Southern Boulevard and immediately east of the Arden development. On March 26, 2026, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution initiating the Conflict Resolution procedures provided by the Florida Governmental Conflict Resolution Act to resolve a conflict over the annexation of Artistry Lakes.
Resolution No. R2026-53 adopts an interlocal agreement to satisfy the requirements of Chapter 164.1056, F.S., and to address the issues raised by the BCC concerning the annexation.
