REQUEST: Ratification of Purchase Order (PO #261047) issued to Precision Air Systems LLC for emergency chiller repairs at the Community Center in the amount of $52,733.49.

EXPLANATION: On August 24, 2026, Wellington issued Purchase Order 261047 to replace condenser coils on the chiller at the Community Center in the amount of $46,593.00. Pricing for the work was quoted based off of the School District of Palm Beach County Contract 26C34V. Subsequent to the Purchase Order being issued, Wellington received an invoice in the amount of $6,140.49 for repairs performed to ensure the unit was operational while the coils are delivered and installed. Public Works deemed these repairs an emergency due to the building only having one unit to serve the building. The total cost for all of the repairs is $52,733.49.
Pursuant to the Purchasing Manual, emergency purchases are exempt from competition in an emergency situation, when the need is the result of a serious and unexpected occurrence and demands immediate action. However, emergency purchases over $50,000 still require Council approval.
Staff is requesting ratification of purchase order issued for the emergency chiller repairs at the Community Center in the amount of $52,733.49.
