EXPLANATION: Wellington is seeking a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to modify Table LU&CD 1-1 Land Use Designations: Density and Intensity of the Land Use & Community Design Element. The table provides the density, intensity, and reinvestment bonus. It is necessary to amend Policies LU&CD 1.3.3 and LU&CD 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 of the element for consistency with Table LU&CD 1-1.
The amendment does not change the intent of the Land Use & Community Design Element. Additionally, the amendment provides for consistency with Wellington's Land Development Regulations (LDR), current vision, and future needs. The Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board has reviewed the proposed ordinance and made a recommendation for approval with a 7-0 vote at the November 20, 2024 meeting.
The item was heard and approved for state transmittal with a 5-0 vote at the December 10, 2024 Council meeting. The item was transmitted to the state on December 12, 2024.
