EXPLANATION: Annually the Village Council recognizes those Public Safety personnel that have been nominated as Wellington’s Top Cop and Top Firefighter.
For 2021, both Captain Silva of the Wellington District 8 Sheriff’s Office and Battalion Chief Anthony Tozzi of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue submitted their nominations for this award. Captain Silva’s nominations included Detective Jason Villiers and Deputy Sheriff Bradley Shouse. Chief Tozzi’s nomination was Lieutenant Jen Kleier.
These nominations were presented to the Public Safety Committee for consideration at the September 22nd regular meeting, at which time the Committee made their recommendations. The Committee recommended Detective Jason Villiers as Wellington’s Top Cop for 2021 and Lieutenant Jen Kleier as Wellington’s Top Firefighter for 2021. Captain Rolando Silva and District Chief Philip Olavarria are in attendance to present this year’s awards.
