ITEM:                     AUTHORIZATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR A VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT 

 

REQUEST:                     Authorization to award a contract to Stantec Consulting Services Inc. for a Vulnerability Assessment in the amount of $251,367.00.

EXPLANATION:                     The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Resilient Florida Program is developing a statewide flood vulnerability assessment. The assessment will identify the most vulnerable communities, infrastructure, and geographic areas that are subject to flooding.  Wellington was awarded a grant in the amount of $201,800 to execute this task.

 

On June 16, 2024 Wellington released RFQ# 202414 seeking the expertise of a qualified consultant.  On July 17, 2024 the Village received proposals from following firms:

 

                     Colliers Engineering & Design, Inc.

                     Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.

                     The Balmoral Group, LLC

                     CTS Engineering, Inc.

                     Stantec Consulting Services Inc.

 

A selection committee meeting was held on July 30, 2024 and three firms were short listed. Presentations and interviews were held on August 14, 2024 and the committee recommended negotiations with the highest ranked firm, Stantec Consulting Services Inc. A contract negotiation session was held on August 26, 2024 to discuss the project and services needed.

 

Staff recommends awarding a contract to Stantec Consulting Services Inc., in the amount of $251,367.00, for a Vulnerability Assessment.
