EXPLANATION: In accordance with approved equipment replacement schedules, staff is requesting authorization to purchase FY 2017 budgeted vehicles and equipment. Purchases are for the vehicles and equipment specified below, from authorized dealers, and at the lowest possible cost. The Florida Sheriffs Association, National Joint Powers Alliance and the State of Florida, each provide a venue for all Florida vendors to propose prices for the sale of their vehicles and equipment. Award is made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Consequently, year after year, the lowest prices are found on FSA, NJPA and State of Florida contracts, from which multiple State and local government agencies make their purchases.

After researching each of the awarded contracts (FSA, NJPA, State of Florida), staff found the lowest price per vehicle/equipment as summarized below:
