EXPLANATION: The Utility owns and operates Peaceful Waters Wetland located next to the water reclamation facility and Village Park. This is a created manmade wetland receiving treated wastewater effluent and was constructed in the early 2000s. The vegetation growth must be removed periodically to maintain the wetland. In 2024 the Utility completed Peaceful Waters Wetland Rehabilitation Phase 1, which removed excessive vegetation growth and exotics from the western half of the wetland. This Phase 2 project will remove excessive vegetation growth and exotics from the eastern half of the wetland. Utility Staff is seeking authorization to:
1) Award a Contract to Sherlock Tree Company, Inc., for Phase 2 of the Peaceful Waters Wetland Rehabilitation Project, in the amount of $199,375.00, plus $25,000 in owner controlled contingency.
On April 14, 2025, the Village released ITB 202514 - Peaceful Waters Wetland Rehabilitation Phase 2, seeking qualified firms to provide such services.
On May 15, 2025, the Village received one (1) proposal from Sherlock Tree Company, Inc. in the amount of $199,375.00.
This Project includes: Removal of vegetation, hauling and disposal off-site; removal and control of Brazilian pepper, and hauling and disposal off-site.
Sherlock Tree Company, Inc completed Phase 1 as part of a separate bid in December 2024.
