EXPLANATION: Wellington Historical Society, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation and an IRC 501(c)(3) organization, raises and expends funds in furtherance of its goal of preserving the unique history of Wellington through the collection and cataloging of artifacts and the development of educational programming.

In 2021, Wellington entered into an agreement with the Wellington Historical Society to provide historical services and educational programming to the residents of Wellington, and in 2022, Wellington renewed that agreement for an additional two years. Wellington's partnership with the Wellington Historical Society has, among other things, facilitated the Wellington Historical Society's ongoing efforts to catalog oral histories, continue offering its popular lunch and learn series, and continue its oral history series.

The existing Agreement for Historical Services terminates on September 30, 2024, if not extended. The new Agreement for Historical Services contains the same general terms with some minor modifications to account for changes to Wellington's standard contract language and amendments to state law. The new Agreement provides for a five (5) year term beginning October 1, 2024.

Wellington will continue to provide: (1) rooms at the Wellington Community Center and/or other facilities for Wellington Historical Society meetings and programs; (2) support in the form of communications personnel, equipment, and facilities, all subject to availability, for the production and presentation of oral histories; and (3) broadcasting of ...
