ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR THE REBUILD AND UPGRADE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS

EXPLANATION: The Village has identified the need to upgrade aging traffic signal infrastructure and improve traffic signal communication capabilities as part of a multi-year program. Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works staff reviewed the requested improvements and provided cost estimates for the installation of fiber optic communication infrastructure, related conduit and pull boxes, pole attachments, and traffic monitoring CCTV cameras.
The proposed improvements will support remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of traffic signal operations at the following locations:

These upgrades will enhance signal reliability, enable real-time monitoring capabilities, and provide Palm Beach County Traffic Division with improved tools for signal troubleshooting and operational adjustments. Per the cost estimate, the project will be executed through Palm Beach County's annual contractor, Precision Contracting Services, Inc., at a total cost of $384,352.00 which includes a 30% contingency ($88,697.00) based on current contract bid tabs. The Village will be refunded with any unspent funds or invoiced with any overrun costs.
