A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA'S COUNCIL APPROVING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE 7th ANNUAL GPL POLO EVENT UTILIZING OUTDOOR AMPLIFIED MUSIC TO BE HELD AT 3665 120th AVENUE SOUTH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REQUEST: Approval of Resolution R2016-014 Special Use Permit for the 7th Annual GPL Polo Event utilizing outdoor amplified music to be held at 3665 120th Avenue.

EXPLANATION: Isla Carroll Farms LP, located at 3665 120th Avenue, will be hosting the 7th Annual GPL event on April 2nd, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The property is located within Subarea D of the Equestrian Overlay Zoning District. In accordance with Article 5; Development Review Procedures, Chapter 5; Special Permit Uses of the Wellington Land Development Regulations Special Use Permits with amplified music require Council approval.
GPL has been issued the Special Use Permit for this event every year since 2010. This is the second year the event will be held at 3665 120th Avenue South. In previous years the event was held at 13444 Southfields Road, also known as Grand Champions Polo. The outdoor polo event will include catered food, alcohol, and a disc jockey with amplified music. The applicant anticipates approximately 1,100 people in attendance with all activities onsite. Parking will be provided to the south on the stick and ball field in the International Polo Club. Attached is the application and event layout date stamped January 21, 2016. Staff, including Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Legal, Public Works, and Engineering have reviewed the application and recommends approval.
