EXPLANATION: The Engineering Department is seeking authorization to utilize an existing Palm Beach County contract for the addition of a traffic calming mini round-a-bout at the intersection of Wellington Trace and Primrose Lane. Specific project components will include the addition of a center island, pedestrian crosswalks, sidewalk additions, and drainage improvements. The intent of this project is to promote slower speeds through this corridor, and to provide a safer pedestrian crossing across Wellington Trace.
Staff is requesting authorization to utilize Palm Beach County Contract #R2020-1641 with Wynn & Sons Environmental, as a basis for pricing, for the traffic calming project at the intersection of Wellington Trace and Primrose Lane at a cost of $65,980.20, including $10,996.70 in contingency.
