EXPLANATION: The Parks and Recreation Department utilizes bus rental and driver services for summer day camp and special event programs.
On March 12, 2024, Wellington released Bid #202409 for bus rental and driver services. The solicitation was advertised in the Palm Beach Post, posted on Wellington’s website and posted on DemandStar. On April 2, 2024, the Village received five (5) proposals meeting the required specifications as summarized below:

The initial term of the contract is for three (3) years with a provision for three (3) additional one (1) year renewals.
Staff recommends awarding a contract to Academy Bus LLC as a primary vendor, Atlantic Charters, Inc. as a secondary vendor and Bus One LLC. as a tertiary vendor for bus rental and driver services. The secondary and tertiary vendors will be utilized in the event the primary vendor is not available to provide the required services.
Prior year expenditures were $64,039.48 and the previous hourly rate was $114 per hour for summer camp and special events.
