ITEM: AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW AN EXISTING CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL LAB ANALYSES
REQUEST: Authorization to renew an existing contract for Annual Lab Analyses with Pace Analytical Services, Inc. for approximately $45,000.

EXPLANATION: In 2011, Council awarded a contract to Pace Analytical Services, Inc. to provide specialized lab analyses for Wellington's Wastewater Reclamation Plant, Water Treatment Plant and Surface Water Management. The services provided as part of this contract are required as part of our compliance with Florida Department of Health, Department of Environmental Protection and South Florida Water Management District regulations. The services provided include analysis beyond the capabilities of our internal laboratory.
The initial term of the contract was for three years, expiring on December 13, 2014, with a provision for two (2) additional one (1) year renewals. Staff is seeking authorization to exercise the first renewal option, effective through December 13, 2015, with no change in price.
