ITEM: APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL WORK REQUIRED FOR THE GYM ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT AT VILLAGE PARK

EXPLANATION: On June 24, 2025, Council awarded a contract to Weather Guard Industries/SMJ Metals, LLC. for the roof replacement project at Village Park, in the amount of $113,693.19. Due to unforeseen additional work, an additional $27,699.65 is needed to complete the project. The cost includes the procurement of plywood by Wellington and installation by Weather Guard Industries/SMJ Metals, LLC. The plywood will be attached to the existing metal decking per the calculations provided by the consultant.
Pursuant to the Village’s Purchasing Manual, the change order threshold for this procurement requires Council approval. Total expenditures that will be paid upon completion of this project will be $141,392.84.
Staff is requesting approval of the cost for the additional work needed to complete this project.
