EXPLANATION:                     Ms. Janell Leatherman, 7th Grade Counselor at Emerald Cove Middle School, has been selected as one of the winners of the 2024 Dwyer Awards, taking home the award for Student Advancement and Career Education.

 

The Dwyer Awards celebrate outstanding teachers from public schools in Palm Beach County, aiming to promote exemplary teaching and educational excellence.  Applicants are assessed based on their classroom achievements, educational philosophy, leadership, and involvement in school-related or community-based activities.  The judging panel, consisting of nearly 100 Palm Beach County business leaders, meticulously evaluates each application through multiple rounds, ultimately selecting seven deserving winners from the pool of finalists.
