ITEM: AGREEMENT WITH COASTAL WASTE & RECYCLING FOR STORM (HURRICANE MILTON) DEBRIS DISPOSAL

EXPLANATION: Wellington has conditionally contracted with Coastal Waste & Recycling as part of the Hurricane Milton EF-3 Tornado debris cleanup effort. Coastal Waste serves as a permitted Solid Waste Authority (SWA) final disposal location for storm-generated debris, including mixed piles and construction and demolition (C & D) debris. Disposal options for C & D in Palm Beach County and South Florida are generally limited and options include Coastal Waste and the Solid Waste Authority (SWA). SWA published rates are $80/ton and Coastal Waste is $60/ton. The anticipated total cost of this contract is approximately $50,000. It is anticipated the costs associated with this contract will be reimbursable per FEMA debris removal guidelines.
