EXPLANATION: Annually the Village Council recognizes Public Safety personnel who have been nominated as Wellington’s Top Cop and Top Firefighter.
The nominations for 2025 from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office included Detective Michael Barbusio, Deputy Sheriff Matthew Finne, Deputy Sheriff Davis Malvinni, and Deputy Sheriff Dwayne Brown. Nominations from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Battalion 2 included Captain Craig Dube, Driver Operator Andrew Moreira and Lieutenant Jason Haythorn.
These nominations were presented to the Public Safety Committee for consideration at the June 11th regular meeting, during which the Committee made their recommendations. The Committee recommended Deputy Sheriff Dwyane Brown as Wellington’s Top Cop for 2025 and Driver Operator Andrew Moreira as Wellington’s Top Firefighter for 2025. Captain Nichole Addazio and District Chief Amanda Vomero are in attendance to present this year’s awards.
