ITEM: RECOGNITION OF WELLINGTON RESIDENT AUSTEN MACMILLAN
REQUEST: A proclamation and recognition of Wellington resident Austen MacMillan as a Wellington Hometown Hero.

EXPLANATION: Wellington resident, Austen MacMillan, who is 12 years old, heroically jumped into action the day he noticed a friend suffering a medical emergency in his family’s pool. Austen pulled the man from the pool and performed CPR until paramedics arrived, saving his life. Austen is being recognized as a Wellington Hometown Hero. He will also receive the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Life Saving Award and is already a recipient of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Samaritan Medal of Honor for his heroic actions.
The Village Council would like to recognize Austen for his heroic and life-saving actions on that day and proclaim him a Wellington Hometown Hero.
