A RESOLUTION OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA’S COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO AUTHORIZE AND APPLY FOR STATE PERMITS FOR TEMPORARY CLOSINGS OF STATE ROADS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.  

 

REQUEST:                     Approval of Resolution No. R2025-73 giving authorization to the Manager or his designee to apply for State permits for special event road closures.

EXPLANATION:                     The Florida Department of Transportation requires local governments to obtain state permits for special events using state roadways (e.g., SR 7/441).  The attached resolution grants authorization to the Manager or their designee to apply for the necessary permits, thereby expediting the permitting process and allowing for temporary closures for special events.
