EXPLANATION: Staff is seeking authorization to:
1. Award a Contract to Douglas N. Higgins, Inc. for the Stormwater Pump Stations Nos. 3,4,6,7,8 and 9 Improvements, in the amount of $5,178,000.00. The project will also include owner-controlled contingency of $250,000. Change orders shall be executed to utilize the project owner-controlled contingency.
The project consists of rehabilitation and improvements to Village of Wellington Stormwater Pump Stations Nos. 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Work includes selective demolition, replacement and upgrade of pump motor electrical controls, control panels, monitoring equipment, backup power connections, lighting, cameras, ventilation systems, and related mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and site improvements.
On May 19, 2026, Wellington released ITB #017-26/MM on Euna OpenBids (formerly known as Demandstar), seeking qualified firms to provide such services. The solicitation was also advertised on the Palm Beach County's Legal Notice site. On June 23, 2026, the Village received two (2) proposals, meeting the required specifications.
