EXPLANATION:                     Wellington’s Youth Council was formed this year and is comprised of high school students meeting eligibility qualifications, including being a Wellington resident and having a minimum GPA of 2.5.  Eligible students went through an interview process and voting members were selected.  The voting members are comprised of a Youth Mayor, Vice Mayor, Secretary, Treasurer, Media Officer, Event Officer, and Recruitment Officer who guide the Council through the decision-making processes.  The Youth Council holds meetings on a bi-monthly basis to review proposed community service projects and other suggestions provided by the members.  The Council will determine its first official community service project at its next meeting, scheduled for January 9, 2025.
